Steps To Install VMware Workstation
There are a few ways to go about installing VMware, one is on the official Broadcom website. Next you could search the internet to find a website that links to it or has the download itself. Because of Broadcom's tendency to change, this blog will include different methods to find and install.
Easiest method
(Note: before clicking links to downloads, ensure the website is trusted, sometimes it is safer to search for the website yourself. The link I provided is the official Broadcom website, however you should always practice safe habits by double checking the links.)
This link should take you directly to broadcom's website offering their VMware workstation product. https://support.broadcom.com/group/ecx/productdownloads?subfamily=VMware+Workstation+Pro
You will need to sign up for a Broadcom account.
After clicking the link, you should see a list of versions offered. Choose the version you want or go with the latest one near the top, ensure you choose "For Personal Use" if this is only for your own use.
Choose the operating system you are currently using for your personal computer.
Once you get to this page you will need to click a check box to agree to their policy, then click the download button seen in the bottom right of the image.
The company will then require you to fill in more information on yourself such as name and address.
The download should now work.
You can finalize the install from your computers download folder, it will take you step by step, just ensure you select personal to use the virtual machine (VM) for free.
Other Steps
Some people may not want to use Broadcom, the site may change, for safety reasons you want to find the site on your own, or you want to know an in depth process. For any reason there are other steps you can take
You can search "vmware download" There will likely be a top search website called VMware blogs, their specific link is: https://blogs.vmware.com/workstation/2024/05/vmware-workstation-pro-now-available-free-for-personal-use.html
Alternatively, you may search for any site that offers the download. Sometimes website may offer the file, allowing you to bypass the need for all the extra account making steps. Warning!
